Green River Asset Building Coalition, Inc (GRABC) and it’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites are seeking volunteers to help provide free tax preparation services during the upcoming filing season.
VITA volunteers make a meaningful impact in local communities by helping eligible taxpayers file their tax returns for free. In 2026, GRABC’s VITA sites, also located in Henderson, Meade, Breckinridge, Hancock and Grayson counties, collectively prepared over 4800 tax returns, generating nearly $7.7 million in refunds.
GRABC will be hosting three volunteer receptions (October 28, November 5, and December 3) where interested individuals may learn more about their tax assistance programs, volunteer roles, and training. One or two current VITA volunteers will also be on hand to share their passion for working with VITA clients. Anyone interested in assisting their local VITA site can contact Carolyn Ferber, 270-685-1603 or carolynferber@grabc.org, for more information.
